| **** | Some occupations also require a defined pass mark as determined by their relevant New Zealand Occupational Registration Authorities in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or another approved English language assessment test. |

Long-Term Skill Shortage List: This list includes all skilled occupations needed in New Zealand nationwide and are always in absolute (sustained and ongoing) demand.
Immediate-Term Skill Shortage List: This list includes all skilled occupations in immediate shortage in certain defined areas of New Zealand only.
