NOTE: *  Subject to Immigration NZ’s requirements and specifications.
**  The series of numbers that appear after each occupation is the Australian-New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) Code.
***  Some occupations require registration with the relevant New Zealand Occupational Registration Authorities. (Please click here for a list of occupations requiring registration before undertaking employment).
****  Some occupations also require a defined pass mark as determined by their relevant New Zealand Occupational Registration Authorities in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or another approved English language assessment test.
*****  Some educational background and/or training require assessment by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

Long-Term Skill Shortage List: This list includes all skilled occupations needed in New Zealand nationwide and are always in absolute (sustained and ongoing) demand.

Immediate-Term Skill Shortage List: This list includes all skilled occupations in immediate shortage in certain defined areas of New Zealand only.
